I’m a writer and teacher living in Birmingham, Alabama.
Since August of 2022, I’ve been the 9th grade World Literature teacher at the Alabama School of Fine Arts. Before this, I ran a one-man, all-electric lawn care company called Red’s Electric Lawn Care. Before that, I was a Senior Writer and Creative Director working in advertising. Before that, I was a college writing instructor and tutor, helping everybody from freshmen putting together research papers all the way up to PhD candidates putting the finishing touches on their dissertations.
I’m a writer of fiction and nonfiction, currently working on an illustrated children’s book called Too Many Toms about a boy that (not so) accidentally clones himself many times over. I’m also shopping around my first novel, Beulahland, about love and loss and nuclear mutants in the Deep South 500 years from now.
